Laniakea is a brand new celestial music duo of Daniel O'Sullivan (Ulver, Grumbling Fur etc.) and Massimo Pupillo (Zu). Cosmic hymns and atomised riffs are slowed and stretched to unveil a gorgeous pantheon of sounds. Interestingly, this album serves as an in memoriam to Ian Johnstone, associate of Coil (one of the most influential and best-known industrial/occult music groups ever) and also features the incredible voice of vocalist Francois Testory, another Coil associate, who is known for singing on the infamous Coil track 'Going Up' (Ape Of Naples, 2005).
